Episode VII - turn3 Returns
by Glenn Oyoung
The last two months have been action-packed and as several turn3 fans have pointed out, Channel 3 was MIA in November. Before you send me to the principal's office, consider that we had less than a month to turn our stock 2007 Nissan Versa into a track-ready competitor. The turn3 Creative/Siphon Magazine Versa made its worldwide debut at Nissan's SEMA booth in November and made its first track appearance at Super Street's Time Attack at Buttonwillow just 2 days later.
Thanks to all of our terrific sponsors and fans for your support. Also, thanks to our friends in the media for your compliments - you guys have seen everything (except for a fixed-up Versa, apparently), so your praise meant a lot to us.
With SEMA and Time Attack out of the way, we can finally let you know about the new products and lines we've been working on all this time. Not only have we been wrenching and racing, but we've been grinding it out on the product side. We're excited to announce the arrival of fresh new products just in time for the Holidays. So read up and log on to our website to find that perfect gift for your favorite gearhead!
turn3 is proud to announce that we have been selected by D's Club to begin producing merchandise for the D1 Grand Prix drifting series. D's Club tapped turn3 to bring an edgy flavor to D1's apparel.
Fans attending the D1 GP Series Final Round on Saturday, December 16th and the D1 World All-Star event on Sunday, December 17th will be able to see the first product of this new relationship, a charcoal hoodie with a gritty D1 shield logo, right in time for winter. turn3 will also have a booth at the World All-Star event on Sunday.
turn3's D1 products are available through D's Club and its network of distributors. Be on the lookout for more D1 gear by turn3 in 2007!
Never Fear, NISSAN is here!
Nissan-lovers rejoice! turn3's line of Official Licensed Nissan apparel is coming. To celebrate we're building a 2007 Nissan Versa for this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The build is being done by turn3 and Siphon Magazine, Primedia's newest magazine focusing on the red hot b-segment.
While we can't show you the car, we can tell you that we'll be transforming our Versa from a spacious, efficient commuter into a lightweight road racer. We want to thank our partners from Nissan, Sparco, Rays, TEIN, Defi, Kumho, Impul, AEM, DC Sports, KTC Media, Spin Imaging, Carbotech, and GAC for their support.
If you're at SEMA, stop by the Nissan booth to see our Versa in person!
turn3 and Scion have collaborated to produce a line of gear featuring the SR (Scion Racing) brand. The SR logo was originally designed by Troy Sumitomo at Five Axis at the request of Scion's Sheila Swanson and has become popular amongst Scion enthusiasts.
The SR line by turn3 includes a follow-up to last year's popular "Ready-Set-Go" design. This year each Scion-backed drag racer had a design made especially for them, incorporating the look of their own race car.
For cooler temps, turn3 also created a set of SR Mechanic Jackets. Dickies jackets were customized with the SR logo on the front and Scion logo on the back. Patches for each team (Horizon, World, KTR, and Titan) as well as for SR and Scion are also available.
Leslie Durst-Armendariz, Chris Rado, Kenny Tran, and Brad Personett and their crews can be seen wearing the gear at NHRA races. To get your SR gear and support your favorite racers log on to Scionware.
